Tomorrow Thursday 17th of May, Roger Smith Hotel is having a Block Party!
It is the grand opening of Kashmir Moon and The Artisan Bazaar. Together with Kal Rieman, who opened two weeks ago, our three pop up spaces are happy to invite you to their wine reception from 6 to 8pm.
I totally recommend you to come and check out their products, they will leave you breathless! All of them offer unique, high-quality and beautiful art pieces that you will fall in love right away! (It happened to me).

Cally Rieman is a NY fashion designer that is currently presenting her new Kal Rieman 2012 spring collection at RSPOP. Her collection is made for independent, self-reliant, confident and professional women. Kal Rieman has a great variety of designs that gives you the opportunity to combine them with your own clothing style.
Kashmir Moon at RSPop[+]
Kashmir Moon is a family business headed by Shujaat H. mma, who grew up in a family of well known artist’s of Kashmir in India. Kashmir is a land of unique and enchanting beauty and this is reflected in the creation of each artful piece. Each piece is hand-embroidered in rich colors depicting the traditional designs such as the exquisite floral, exotic animal, and the classic paisley.
The Artisan Bazaar at the Corner Space
The Artisan Bazaar is a collective of artists, designers, and makers who have brought life to our Corner Pop up space. They have come together to offer their high-quality, beautiful and unique products to purchase at the Roger Smith Hotel space. Gear up to look beautiful, activate clarity, vitality and concentration during the summer heat. Intrigued by what she saw one afternoon in Turkey, curator Sema Tekinay is bringing fine 24 karat gold handcrafted adornments artistically produced in Istanbul and featuring luxurious stones and dramatic settings inspired by artifacts from the Roman, Ottoman and Byzantine empires.

RS POP & Life Preservers Collective Join Forces to Save Lives

RSPOP is excited to announce its POP UP for March 16-26, 2011 with Life Preservers Inc., a New York State non-profit arts organization dedicated to creating consciousness and resources for the victims of human trafficking.
This collective will be featuring emerging local artists who produce photography, paintings, jewelry, textiles and even unique guitars. “At RS POP we strongly believe in building a community with the artists and designers that we represent and through charity we all build deeper bonds,” says Gonzalez. Portions of all the proceeds sold at RS POP Shop will be donated to organizations such as RestoreNY, GEMS-Girls, and Polaris Project, which aid victims of human trafficking.
“Participating artists are asked to create unique works of art utilizing any and all mediums,” says Shana Pederson, President of Life Preservers Inc. “We like ‘Life Preservers’ to be kept in mind during creation or in some manner be represented in the final product either literally or figuratively.”
Life Preservers Inc. was created in the hopes that through increased awareness, the millions of women and children brought into the country for the purpose of human slavery will be able to reclaim their lives and a safe place in society. The Life Preservers Project gives artists the rare opportunity to create pieces that will both educate through the power of content and concurrently raise funds for these organizations. ”As artists it’s great to know that we can use our design skills and creativity to give back to the greater good,” says Bonnie Kaye Whitfield, Co- Owner and artist, Kaye Rachelle Designs.

RS POP Fashion Week SS 2011 Recap

From September 10th (Fashion’s Night Out) through Closing Night on September 16th,
RS POP & The Lab Gallery kept the street corner of 47th & Lexington POPPING!
In a week long celebration of cutting edge Fashion, Co-Founder Melissa Gonzalez carefully selected a talented group of up and coming emerging designers to participate in Fashion Week SS 2011. The line up included Animated Closet, Tribal Couture, ModaListas, Sandra Baquero, Sohung Designs, Ceola, Blynk and EcoGir.
Press, Buyers, Stylists and Fashionistas filled the seats. Residents of midtown east, businessmen and business women filled the streets on their lunch breaks and during rush hour. The show was a “street stopper” for all and considered a hip, innovative collaboration for NYC Fashion Week. Post shows, as press stayed behind to grab photos of designers, models and RS POP team, shoppers hurried into RS POP Shop to capture the chance to get their hands on the featured designers current collections.
Closing night was a celebration of all designers participating, sponsors, press, buyers and staff. The room was filled with industry talent and networking opportunities! See below for runway events, pics and press links:
