unnamed - chop one rectangular ice cube in half using meat cleaver, pour one jigger highest quality gin in sherry glass, gently add one-half ice cube - meditate, focusing on ice cube, drink when ice cube is melted - no fruit
  • bsimi 4 some reason i can't reply so to answer your question CaptJackKerouac, thank you.

I discovered Kir's while on a trip to Montreal with my wife at a hotel bar. So, for this forum, I believe my drink recipe is pretty fitting. I've added some of my own flair to make it a little sweeter and to enjoy it as more of a relaxing, laid back kind of cocktail. I've named it "Kir Steve," and it's sure to liven up your "Sunday Funday" whether just taking the time to relax or enjoying the company of friends.

Take a wine glass and add some frozen mixed berries. Throw in a pinch of sugar, a touch of Creme de Cassis, and then fill the glass with some champagne (I use Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante, works best for this). A quick little bit of a stir (not too much, remember, it's fizzy, you don't want a mess!) and, voila... a great melange of flavors to please the senses.

I believe the Kir Steve has a home on the next list ! Truly.
It sounds like... well it sounds like another ;-)
Thank you for the suggestion !
  • Hot in the City

In a tall ice filled glass:
    1 oz. Vodka citron
1 oz. Hot pepper infused vodka
    1/2 t soy sauce
    1/2 t Worcestershire Sauce
    Juice of one lime
1 t of old bay seasoning
    6oz of clamato
    2oz of beer (lager style)

    Stir with a long spoon
Serve with a cucumber slice on the side of the glass &
2 wasabi peas floating on top

A cross between a Michelada & an annapolis bloody Mary. The beer fizz makes it perfect for a sunday brunch or watching a football game.
  • This one sounds awesome!
  • bsimi
I was actually going to pick yours but was overruled by the bacon lovers at RSH ;-)
sounds amazing though and thank you so much for the entry !
  • I'm going to have to borrow my friend's recipe for this one:

    Bayou Pirate

    1 Part Southern Comfort
    1 Part Captain Morgan
1 Part Diet Dr. Thunder (generic Dr. Pepper)

It's a fantastically sweet mix great for a summer evening. But watch out, it'll mess you up pretty quickly.
  • bsimi
So curious... I almost picked this based on the Diet Dr. Thunder alone....
  • I can't make this drink at home, but I bet the folks behind the bar at RSH could help me experience it again.

It's called the Botanica, and is the house cocktail of a bar by the same name in Red Hook

    Botanica
    - cacao-infused vodka
    - muddled raspberries

    (Please make this happen!)

    Rose Sangria:
2 bottles of Rose Wine (any pink wine will do)
1 16 oz. can of pineapples in 100% pineapple juice
    1 can of guava nectar
    1 orange (cut into slices)
    1 lime (cut into slices)

Rose Sangria is one of my favorite Sunday drinks usually when we have a roof top cookout this is my staple drink that I make. Tons of fruit and plenty of alcohol.

OMG you rock and yes please - pass the Rose Sangria now ;-o
  • BLT Mary

    In a cocktail shaker mix:
2 oz. Bacon Infused Vodka (do this yourself 2 months in advance - 1 lbs cooked bacon/litter vodka)
    8 oz. V8
    1 tbls. Worcertershire Sauce
    Tabasco to taste
    2-3 tsp. Horseradish
    dash of Onion Juice
    pinch of Celery Seed
    pinch of Cracked Black Pepper
Shake with ice and poor into a Pint Glass that has a Red Rubb and Salted Rim, then garnish with a Leaf of Romain Heart and Slim Jim.

Bloody Mary's are a great hang over cure and BACON. Need I say more. Have a Super Sunday Funday.
  • That's awesome! Sounds great! I would have taken one of those today : ) @bsimi - Do you have the bacon infusing yet! Going to be hard to wait two months, but worth the wait ; )
  • bsimi
Brilliant recipe ! You are the winner !
  • Did he say a slim Jim stirrer? That is just sick. I LOVE IT!
