Building Online and Offline Community at the Roger Smith Hotel

on September 17 | in Events, Hotel | by | with 6 Comments

Adam Wallace and Brian Simpson spoke at Jeff Pulver’s 140 Character Conference NYC Meetup on Sept 16, 2009. They spoke on how the Roger Smith Hotel has built business through a focus on people, relationships and community. The Roger Smith has always been a place of community, but with the online tools now available to us the hotel has built a major online presence and reputation and the Social Media Hub in NYC.

I would also like to join the off-line community…is that available to us social media types?

  2. Adam Wallace says:

Yes! Absolutely. Next Friday 9/25 we are going to start up again with “Follow Fridays IRL (in real life)”. You should join us for that!

It's nice to hear these key words/phrases mentioned and see them implemented:
    Create, build & Maintain Relationships
    It's About People
    Continued follow up
We are all part of a family
    Trust
    Reach People w/ Stories
Gratitude & graciousness to and for your supporters
    Commraderie
    Community

    :)

Great Keywords…do they work on google :)
    Best,

Yes! But just like in business and life, those keywords work best if they are not just spoken or claimed, but actually put into action throughout an entire community, not just within their own select circle of friends. When people and companies focus daily on being their but AND move from exclusive to “in”clusive (talking about people :) , that's when the TRUE magic happens.
